LEWISTON — The Dempsey Challenge, presented by Amgen, will host its 4th Annual Bike-A-Palooza with three-time U.S. Pro champion “Fast Freddie” Rodriguez on Saturday, June 13.

The event is open to kids in grades one to six, and the event will be held at two locations: from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Norway Savings Bank Arena, 985 Turner St., Auburn; and from 2-4 p.m. at the YMCA of Southern Maine, Pineland Branch, 25 Campus Drive, New Gloucester.

The Bike Rodeo will feature a test of riders’ bicycle skills and knowledge through exercises developed through the Maine Bicycle & Pedestrian Safety Education Program’s nationally-recognized curriculum. Participants will review basic bike safety, handling and maintenance. All participants will receive a specialized goodie bag. Helmet fittings and bike safety checks will be done at check-in. Helmets will be available.
