ST. LOUIS — Elena Yates Kraus, of East Wilton, received an M.D. and Ph.D on May 14 from Saint Louis University in St. Louis, Mo.

Kraus is the daughter of Margaret and the late Dr. William Yates, of East Wilton. She studied Health Care Ethics for her Ph.D degree. Both Kraus and her husband David will begin residencies in obstetrics/gynecology at Saint Louis University, St. Mary’s Health Center in St. Louis, Mo. on July 1. 

David and Elena Kraus have two children; John Paul, almost three, and Francesca, 17 months, who has recently completed treatment for liver cancer. Meg Yates will join them in St. Louis during their four-year residency training.
