AUBURN — Everett Bertrand, a student at Wheaton College in Norton, Mass., is serving a summer internship at the Androscoggin Historical Society. This experience is sponsored by the Wheaton Fellows Program, which enables students to undertake educational experiences that link to academic or career interests.

Bertrand has already undertaken a variety of projects, including transcription of a collection of Edward Little letters and the production of the forthcoming June edition of the society’s newsletter. He has also photographed artifacts from the collection and written captions that will be entered into the museum catalog and broadcast by social media.

“Everett has already accomplished a great deal,” said Doug Hodgkin, president of the Androscoggin Historical Society. “He is enabling us to tackle several projects, some of which we could not otherwise undertake.”

At Wheaton, Bertrand is a dean’s list student, history major and a member of the History Club and the rugby team. He is a graduate of Poland High School, where he received academic honors and served as team captain of football, indoor track, and outdoor track.

He is the son of Julie and Michael Bertrand, of Minot.
