WATERFORD — The Wilkins Community House has announced it will host its 62nd year of Waterford Summer Breakfasts on Plummer Hill Road, Waterford, next to the Waterford Congregational Church. The first breakfast will be held from 7:30-10 a.m. Saturday, July 4. Freshly baked muffins, eggs, pancakes, doughnuts, coffee, tea and orange juice with Maine Maple Syrup will be served.
The July 4 opening breakfast will precede the parade at 10:30 a.m. and a book sale will take place at the Waterford Library from 9 a.m. to noon. The Waterford Historical Society will open the Rice Museum and the Old Town House.
The group has also announced breakfasts on the following Wednesdays: July 15, July 29 and August 12.The price for each breakfast is $8 for adults, $4 for child-sized portions and free for children under five.
During each breakfast, the basement of the community house will host a yard sale from 7:30-11 a.m. New items will be for sale at each breakfast.
Workers for kitchen or dining room shifts are welcome to join the breakfast work crew. Interested volunteers should call 207-583-2729.
Proceeds from the summer breakfasts help with maintenance of the Wilkins Community House. Income from the yard sales goes to the maintenance funds for the Wilkins Community House and the Waterford Congregational Church.
