LEWISTON — The city is detouring Lisbon Street traffic Tuesday night to allow workers to raise a sewer manhole.
The work was originaly scheduled overnight Monday, however the city was unable to locate an available road crew until Tuesday night.
Work on Lisbon Street between Pine and Chestnut street starts 6 p.m. Tuesday and is to last until 7 a.m. Wednesday. During those hours, trucks will be detoured to Cedar Street for all traffic headed to Main Street. Other vehicles will be detoured to Spruce Street, Bates Street and Ash Street to get back to Lisbon Street.
After the detour is lifted, traffic on Lisbon Street will be restricted to one lane to allow the mortar around the raised manhole to set.
