It just doesn’t seem fair that House Democrats want to give asylum-seekers two years of taxpayer-funded money when we have hundreds of Mainers seeking help.

How many of us growing up in a Democratic family remember a relative or a neighbor saying, “so what. Let the state or the government pay for it.”

Voila. It’s déjà vu again.

I honestly feel that if Gov. Paul LePage could sugarcoat his speech with more finesse, he could convince a few more Democrats to see things his way.

After all, the highest number of Maine voters did put him in office deux fois (twice).
