RANGELEY — The Rangeley Friends of the Arts will present International Night at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 8, at the RFA Lakeside Theater.
Primo Cubano, a five-member band, will offer their unique style of Cuban salsa. Included in the $15 ticket price, concert-goers will have “A Taste of Cuba” – complimentary snacks with a Cuban flavor at intermission.
Primo Cubano plays traditional Cuban dance music dating back to the turn of the 20th century. Son is the most popular style to come out of Cuba and is the primary contributor to the blend of Latin styles today known as salsa. Son was a music of the country people, which eventually migrated to Havana, where it was urbanized and began to draw a wider audience.
During intermission, the “Taste of Cuba” will include a mini-empanada, a bite-size Cuban sandwich, plantain chips and a special virgin sangria.
Tickets are available in advance at the Rangeley Chamber of Commerce, 6 Park Road, or call 207-864-5571. Tickets will also be available at the door. The Lakeside Theater is located at 2493 Main St. FMI: www.rangeleyarts.org.
