AUGUSTA — U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin has raised nearly $380,000 in the latest reporting period to support his re-election bid.

The 2nd District congressman’s campaign said Tuesday that he has raised more than $1.1 million to date. Poliquin has donated more than $3,000 to his own campaign and has nearly $950,000 cash on hand.

Poliquin said he’s pleased with the support, but that his campaign has a long way to go.

The first-term congressman is being challenged by Emily Cain, a former Democratic state senator who lost to the Republican last November. Her campaign didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment on Tuesday.

Poliquin plans to file his fundraising report with the Federal Election Commission on Wednesday. The reporting period covers donations made between April 1 and June 30.
