LEWISTON — Proper diabetes care is important. How does one effectively manage diabetes and receive comprehensive care while at the same time preserving and strengthening the relationship between patient and care partner?
That will be the subject of an upcoming presentation being hosted by Central Maine Medical Center, the first of four events centered around living with and managing diabetes.
The presentation, “Diabetes Together: For People with Diabetes and Their Care Partners,” will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 13, in Conference Room 4/6, at the Maine College of Health Professionals, CMMC, 70 Middle St., Lewiston. There is no cost to attend.
According to Jamie Pepin, a clinical dietitian and diabetic educator who is organizing the series, the goal of the 60-minute presentation is to show couples “how to work together to manage diabetes without it becoming the main focus of the relationship.”
Those interested in attending the presentation are asked to register in advance by calling 795-7520 and leaving a message with name and phone number.
