AUBURN – L/A Arts’ Art & Ale exhibit at Gritty’s at Main and Court streets celebrates that favorite summer pastime – baseball.

Photographer George Campbell is a die-hard Red Sox fan. He is also the editor and publisher of Busch East Scene, a NASCAR publication specializing in NASCAR racing in the Northeast.

Earlier this year, he was in Florida for spring training, following a story on baseball players interested in NASCAR. While interviewing the players, he brought his camera and captured some of them on film.

Included in the exhibit are shots taken from opposing teams dugouts. In this way, he includes not only the players at the center of the action, but occasionally a bit of history.

Also included in the exhibit are former Red Sox players Nomar Garciapara and Bill Mueller, both photographed in action with their new team, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

All-time great Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson is also in the exhibit.

Most of the images are available for purchase. To purchase art or find out more about the window gallery, visit L/A Arts Web site at www.laarts.org or call L/A Arts at 782-7228.
