LEWISTON — The Western Maine Labor Council will host a public barbecue from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 7, in honor of Labor Day. The event will be held at IBEW 567 Union Hall, 238 Goddard Road.
Workers, families, friends and community members are invited to celebrate working people and their accomplishments and to enjoy an afternoon of food and fun together. The barbecue will feature food, entertainment and speakers, including workers supporting various statewide and municipal efforts to raise wages in Maine.
Ben Chin, mayoral candidate for Lewiston, will also address attendees.
There will be a magician and children’s entertainment. The cost is $5 per person. This event will take place rain or shine.
