Sign-up deadline extended for tour

SUMNER — The Rumford and Mexico Historical Societies are extending the sign-up deadline for attending the Sept. 19 Gas Museum Tour and Picnic in Sumner.

Interested members, guests or the general public may send in their reservation sheets and $7 per person until Saturday, Sept. 12. Checks should be made to Rumford Historical Society and mailed to Jane W. Peterson, 231 Eaton Hill Road, Rumford, ME 04276.

CARTHAGE — The Carthage Historical Society will meet at 5:30 p.m. for supper Tuesday, Sept. 15, with meeting to follow.

Otisfield lunch and produce swap

OTISFIELD — There will be an Otisfield community lunch and produce swap from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Community Hall, Route 121. Cost is free with donations accepted. Bring excess garden vegetables to share or swap.

Lunch menu includes: Beef stew, minestrone soup, corn bread (some gluten free), salads, rice pudding and cookies, coffee, hot and iced tea, and lemonade.
