Edward Little 0, Camden Hills 0

AUBURN — Edward Little had a chance late in regulation with a header off a splendid cross from Jarod Norcross Plourde, but the Red Eddies settled for a 0-0 tie with Camden Hills in boys’ soccer action Friday afternoon.

The Windjammers (6-0-2) outshot Edward Little 15-5, but had a difficult time breaking down a strong Red Eddies’ (2-3-3) defense, led by Ben Steele, Noah Perron and Spencer Frahn.

Oceanside 4, Leavitt 0

ROCKLAND — Andrew King netted a pair of goals to lead Oceanside to a 4-0 win over Leavitt in KVAC boys’ soccer action Friday.

Christian Straka and Sam Townsend also tallied for Oceanside (6-0-1) to complete the scoring.

Coby Dorr made five saves to notch the shutout, while Lucas Perry (14 saves) and Mitchell Knox (3) split time between the posts for Leavitt (3-4-1). 

Field hockey

Dirigo 2, Oak Hill 1

WALES — Sabrina Daoud converted a pass from Lauren Henderson to record her second goal of the game with 30 seconds left in regulation to give Dirigo a 2-1 victory over Oak Hill in MVC field hockey action Friday. 

Daoud gave the Cougars a 1-0 advantage in the first frame with an assist from Emma Lueders. Maegan Sheeley scored for the Raiders to complete the scoring.

Morgan Morrow made 10 saves for Dirigo, while Abby Fuller turned aside seven shots for Oak Hill.  

Mountain Valley 2, Hall-Dale 0

RUMFORD — The Mountain Valley Falcons dominated the game offensively in the 2-0 MVC field hockey victory over the Hall-Dale Bulldogs.

The Falcons outshot the Bulldogs 33-0. Lexi Duguay set-up both goals in the first half when she found Chelsea Allison and Marissa Crosby. Alysaa Akers manned the net for Mountain Valley (6-3) while Kaylee Magee stopped 15 shots for Hall-Dale (0-9).

Winthrop 1, Telstar 0

WINTRHOP — Junior forward Emily Molino made a sweeping goal to lift Winthrop to a 1-0 victory over Telstar in MVC field hockey action Friday afternoon.

The contest went back-and-forth with neither team scoring in the first half.

Katie Perkins crossed to Molino on the post midway through the second half for the Ramblers (6-3).

Goalie Blair Stevens made seven saves for the Rebels (2-7), while goalie Corinna Coulton turned back two to earn the win in net for Wintrhop.

Girls’ soccer

Camden Hills 3, Edward Little  1

CAMDEN — Emma Gutheind netted a pair of unassisted goals in the first half to propel Camden Hills to a 3-1 victory over Edward Little in a mid-season KVAC girls’ soccer tilt Friday.

Bryn Anderson added an insurance goal for the undefeated Windjammers (8-0) , while Emily Jacques tallied in the second frame for Edward Little (2-4-2).

Jana Steijer made nine saves for Camden Hills, while Francesca-Beth Haines turned aside 10 shots for the Red Eddies. 

Buckfield 6, Greater Portland Christian 0

BUCKFIELD — Julia Dow led a group of five players to record goals Friday as Buckfield overpowered Greater Portland Christian, 6-0, in a EWC girls’ soccer tilt.

Ashley Campbell, Brianna Damon, Hannah Shields and Jen Dobson (penalty kick) also tallied for the Bucks to complete the scoring. 

Shields and Damon combined for two saves to notch the shutout, while Clairette Kirezi turned aside 12 shots for Greater Portland Christian.

Winthrop 1, Dirigo 0

WINTHROP — After a scoreless first half, Sierra Huff converted a pass from Chloe Armillotte with 20 minutes remaining to give Winthrop a 1-0 victory over Dirigo in MVC girls’ soccer action Friday. 

Shie Smith made 22 saves to preserve the shutout, while Mariah Lafleur deflected eight shots for the Cougars. 

Falmouth 9, Poland 0

POLAND — Sydney Williams registered a hat trick Friday to propel Falmouth to a 9-0 rout over Poland in a WMC girls’ soccer tilt. 

Tyler Spence, Emma England, Alex Shapiro, Amelia Waite, Lucy Mahoney and Madison Wolf also tallied for Falmouth to complete the scoring. 

Adelaide Cook and Kathryn Caldwell combined for three saves to notch the shutout, while Erin Brewer turned aside 17 shots between the posts for Poland (1-6).
