FARMINGTON — Registration is open for Franklin County Animal Shelter’s annual Strut for Strays 5K Dog Walk/Run fundraiser, which will be at 9 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 11, at Titcomb Mountain.

Participants can preregister online at www.fcanimalshelter.org. The entry fee of $20 includes a T-shirt and finisher medal. Registration will also be available the morning of the event.

New to this year is a Canine Costume Contest, which allows participants to pick which category to be judged in: Individual Canine, Coordinating Canine and Human and Group Costumes. Prizes will be awarded to first and second places in all categories.

Dogs may be brought to the event, but must be kept on a leash no longer than 6 feet. Retractable leashes are not allowed. Dogs must also be current on their rabies vaccinations.
