FARMINGTON — A Wilton man is accused of sexually assaulting a girl under the age of 16 in February in Franklin County, Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. said in a news release.
Detective Kenneth Charles arrested Shane Dunn, 24, on Tuesday on a felony charge of gross sexual assault.
The initial call on the incident was made by school personnel in Franklin County on Sept. 24. Deputy Nicholas Zecher began an investigation, he said. Charles assisted Zecher with the interviews of the victim and witness.
Deputies interviewed Dunn on Tuesday and arrested him, Nichols said.
A conviction on a Class A sexual assault charge is punishable by up to 30 years in prison and a $50,000 fine.
Dunn’s bail was set at $25,000 cash.
