RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for James I. Boyle, of Hingham, Mass., and formerly of the Rumford area, on Saturday, Oct. 3, at 10 a.m., at Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius – St. John Church, 126 Maine Ave., Rumford, with the Rev. Greg Dube officiating. Altar assistant was Bernard Poirier. Organist was Mark Belanger. Music selections included “Here I Am Lord” and “Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory.” Special music “Amazing Grace” was sung by grandson, Matthew Boyle and “On Eagle’s Wings” was sung by granddaughter, Lindsay Boyle. The first reading from the Old Testament was pronounced by daughter, Ellen Boyle; granddaughter, Natalia Baum; and grandson, Evan Brown. The second reading from the New Testament was pronounced by daughter, Elaine Boyle White. The Prayers of the Faithful was pronounced by the Rev. Greg Dube. Presenting the gifts were granddaughters, Sheridan White, Natalia Baum and Leigh Ann Souther. The eulogy was given by his sons, James A. Boyle and Clifford Boyle. Pallbearers were his grandsons, Prescott White, Chadwick White, Brandan White, Jameson White, Evan Brown, Jared Boyle and C.J. Boyle. Committal services were conducted by the Rev. Greg Dube. Military honors at the cemetery were provided by the Maine Military Funeral Honors Program from Augusta. Interment was at St. John Cemetery, Rumford. A reception followed in the Parish Hall of St. Athanasius – St. John Church and served by St. Timothy Circle, Daughters of Isabella. Arrangements were under the care of the Meader & Son Funeral Home, Cremation and Monument Services, 3 Franklin St., Rumford.
