NEWRY – Actor and comedian Lenny Clarke will hit the trails of Sunday River the weekend of Jan. 27 -28 hosting his annual Celebrity Ski Classic.

The event is a benefit is for The Genesis Fund, which assists New England children in need of specialized treatment and medical care.

The Celebrity Ski Classic raises about $35,000 for The Genesis Fund every year. Funds raised from contributions, a silent live auction and raffles go toward the cause.

Guests are invited to participate in the fundraiser by spending the weekend at Sunday River Ski Resort enjoying three days of skiing, two nights lodging, meals and scheduled activities.

Founded in 1982 by Dr. Murray Feingold, The Genesis Fund has raised more than $20 million. The money helps sponsor groups like The National Birth Defects Center, The Pregnancy Exposure InfoLine, Therapy and Performing Arts and other satellite clinics and programs throughout New England.

Clarke was raised and educated in New England. He began his career on the stand-up circuit in Boston and later moved on to act in television and film.
