AUBURN — Ferdona Young, 100, of Highland Terrace, Mexico, died on Thursday, Oct. 29, at the Hospice House in Auburn.

She was born in Solon on May 7, 1915, and was the daughter of Walter and Jenny (Steward) Spaulding.

She enjoyed being in her garden, camping and snowmobiling.

Ferdona was married in Dixfield on June 1, 1933, to George A. Young who died in Rumford on Sept. 20, 1989.

Survivors include daughters, Noreen Milledge and husband, John, of Mexico, Delores Mowat and husband, Thomas, of Mexico, Dona St. Cyr and husband, Richard, of Bowdoinham, Sheila Weld and husband, Bruce, of Dixfield, Joette Carlton and husband, Raymond, of Hebron; a son, Gary Young and wife, Ellen, of Livermore; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Carleen Philbrick and Christine Schmersal of Mexico.

She was predeceased by her parents; husband; sister, Velma Fulton; brothers, Kenneth, Basil and Stanley; son, Steward Young Sr.; and grandson, Steward Young Jr.
