LOS ANGELES (AP) – Actress Brooke Burns was hospitalized after diving into her backyard pool and hitting her head, her agent said Monday.
Burns broke a bone in her neck and required “minor surgery,” said Paradigm spokeswoman Jennifer Glassman.
The former “Baywatch” star and host of “Dog Eat Dog” has been hospitalized since Friday, Glassman said. She is expected to be released Tuesday.
“There’s no permanent damage,” Glassman said. “She will begin work as scheduled in January.”
Burns will co-star with Rebecca Romijn in the new WB television series, “Pepper Dennis.”
Sharon Stone settles lawsuit with plastic surgeon
LOS ANGELES (AP) – A settlement has been reached in a lawsuit filed by Sharon Stone against a Beverly Hills doctor she accused of implying that he had performed cosmetic surgery on her famous face, a lawyer said Tuesday.
Stone, 47, accepted an offer by Dr. Renato Calabria to perform several charity surgeries for underprivileged children involved in her philanthropic efforts, Kevin Leichter, a lawyer representing Calabria, said Tuesday.
“It became plain to all parties that the lawsuit was the result of a misunderstanding,” Leichter said. “Dr. Calabria did not perform plastic surgery on Ms. Stone.”
The lawsuit was dismissed Monday, he said.
A message left by The Associated Press for Stone’s lawyer, Stephen Garcia, wasn’t immediately returned.
Stone’s complaint, filed last December in Los Angeles County Superior Court, stemmed from magazine articles. The lawsuit stated that Stone has never undergone a face-lift.
The “Basic Instinct” star maintained that such allegations damaged her reputation and hurt her ability to find work.
Stone had sought compensatory and punitive damages for defamation and misappropriation of her likeness, Leichter said.
