FARMINGTON — The United Way of the Tri-Valley Area will host the Great Charity Auction on Saturday, Nov. 21, at the North Dining Hall at the University of Maine at Farmington.

The festivities will begin with an Early Bird Social, Silent Auction and Live Auction Preview from 4:30 to 6 p.m. with a cash bar and hors d’oeuvres. A live auction will begin at 6 p.m. with auctioneer Adrian Harris.

The “Hometown Pride” theme of this year’s auction will be represented by many of the items. These include dining and lodging packages, maple syrup and honey gift baskets, local services, garden items, crafts, as well as fine art and antiques. Many generous area businesses have provided gift certificates. The theme is also reflected in many of the food choices served during the social hour, as well as the festive decorations.

Proceeds from the auction support the community-based programs supported by the United Way of the Tri-Valley Area. These include mental health and transportation services, food pantries, domestic violence prevention programs and emergency fuel assistance.

Pre-bid sheets are available for those unable to attend by visiting www.uwtva.org or at the United Way office.

FMI, donate items: 207-778-5048.
