NORWAY — Residents do not have to eat alone on Thanksgiving Day. The Community Thanksgiving Dinner Committee has invited people from Oxford Hills to share a Thanksgiving Day meal with friends and neighbors.

A delicious, full-course dinner will be prepared and served by members of St. Catherine of Sienna and Christ Episcopal Church on Thanksgiving Day to anyone who wishes to attend. The meal will begin at noon Thursday, Nov. 26, in the St. Catherine’s church Hall located at 32 Paris St.

Guests will enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner served family-style with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and vegetables along with homemade pies for desert. There is no charge to attend.

The dinner follows a practice that began more than 20 years ago by parishioner of St. Catherine of Sienna church who recognized a need in the community. She knew of several individuals who were spending Thanksgiving Day along and invited them to her home. This became an annual event until the number of people who wanted to participate became too large for her to accommodate at her house.

RSVP: 207-743-2606.
