1937 – 2015

PORTLAND — Starr Norine Green, 78, of Hollis, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 8, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

She was born on Oct. 29, 1937, a daughter of the late Stanley and Valerlee (Ring) Andrews in West Paris. Starr graduated from West Paris High School and went on to receive an associate’s degree from Casco Bay College. During her high school years, she was a majorette.

She enjoyed walking her dogs at the ocean, watching GSN and TLC, and most importantly – being with her family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed camping and taking cross country motorcycle trips.

Starr worked for several years at Fairchild’s and then went on to be an administrative assistant at Blue Cross and Blue Shield. In her retirement, Starr kept busy being a dedicated volunteer at The Root Cellar in Portland.

Starr is survived by her daughter, Maureen L. Ellery and her husband, Raymond, of Old Orchard Beach; sister, Donna Mae Eaton of South Paris; grandsons, Nicholas T. Walker of Orlando, Fla., Branden F. Walker of Buxton and Jordan E. Walker of Buxton and his girlfriend, Christine Hatch; close friend, Julianna Poirier; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and dear friends and family members.

She is predeceased by both her husbands, Thomas A. Coyne and Edward I. Green.
