AUBURN — The Auburn Community Concert Band, under the direction of Milt Simon, will present its 34th annual holiday concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, at the Franco Center, 46 Cedar St., Lewiston. The 75-minute performance is free of charge to the public.

The 40-member concert band is comprised of volunteer musicians from 15 central Maine communities who range in age from 15 to 90. The group will perform both traditional and contemporary holiday favorites.

As has been the tradition for nearly three decades, the audience will have an opportunity to doante to the local branch of the Salvation Army. All money collected that evening will be used to help area residents in need of assistance. For each of the past three years, audience contributions have averaged more than $1,000 following the ACCB’s holiday concerts.

The Franco Center’s cafe and bar will be open from 6-7 p.m. , and will re-open at  the end of the performance.

For more information regarding this concert, call the Franco Center at 207-783-1585, or visit the band’s web site at www.auburncommunityband.com.
