1957 – 2015
LEWISTON — William R. McCormick Jr., “Butch,” 58, of Wilton, died enroute to Central Maine Medical Center on Thursday morning, Dec. 10.
He was born Aug. 12, 1957, in Biloxi, Miss., a son of William R. “Ross” and Helen (Cowan) “DeeDee” McCormick Sr. He received his education in Farmington schools and Mt. Blue High School. He was employed as a sole layer and edge trimmer at G.H. Bass, Cole Haan and American Shoe for a number of years.
On June 10, 1989, he married Barbara Tourtelotte. She predeceased him on July 21, 2012.
Butch was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping at East Carry and was a New England Patriots and Boston Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his dad, William R. “Ross” McCormick Sr. and his wife, Rose Mary, of New Sharon; three sons,: Kevin McCormick and his wife, Joanna, of St. Albans, Beau McCormick of North New Portland and Troy McCormick and his wife, Ashlee, of Wilton; two stepchildren, Travis Toothaker and his wife, Sharon, of Livermore and Tracy Merrill and her husband, Scott, of Turner; four grandchildren, Aidan McCormick, Katie Merrill, Brooke McCormick and Megan McCormick; and several cousins, aunts and uncles.
He was predeceased by his mother, DeeDee; his brother, David McCormick; and sister, Debra Seeley.
