1940 – 2015
AUBURN — Gaston A. Saindon, 75, of Auburn, passed away Saturday, Dec. 12, at the Hospice House in Auburn.
He was born on July 3, 1940, in Lewiston, a son of the late Roland and Jeannette Saindon. He grew up in the local area and attended Lewiston and Auburn schools. In 1958 he joined the Army Reserves to proudly serve his country. In 1971, he married Pauline (Caron) Saindon.
During that time, Gaston worked as a mechanic for Marcel Motors, he worked in the shoe industry and he also worked as an orderly at St. Mary’s Hospital. He most recently was a canteen truck driver for Hi-Style Catering in Lewiston. He will always be remembered for his love of hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his three children, Annette Dumont and her husband, Albert, of Greene, Willie Dulac and his wife, Judy, also of Greene and Ray Dulac of Auburn. He also leaves behind his siblings, Rene Saindon and his wife, Corrine, of Lewiston, Claudette Gendron and her husband, Gaeten, and Leo Saindon and his wife, Diane, of Florida; as well as three grandchildren, Dakota Dumont and Cheyenne and Dalton Dulac.
He was predeceased by his loving wife, Pauline, in 2014.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Clover Manor for making his stay as fun and comfortable as possible, as well as Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for the care that Margaret and her staff gave dad. For his very short time at the Hospice House, a very heartfelt thank you to Marie and Garrianne for their tender caring hands in dad’s final moments.
