WEST PARIS — Photos of the national parks of the western U.S., taken by former West Paris resident Stephanie Emery, are on exhibit at the West Paris Library.
Emery grew up across the field from the West Paris Library. She has been taking photos for fun for as long as she can remember, starting with a Kodak 110 film camera given to her by her grandparents, Joe and Leone Penley.
After teaching instrumental music for several years, Emery decided she needed some adventure and took a trip with a tour company called Adventure Bus. She fell in love with that style of travel and the national parks.
For the past 12 years, Emery has been running Adventure Bus and its tours, which have taken her to all 50 states and 45 of the 50 national parks.
At 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 7, Emery will give a talk and show pictures of her adventures. She describes her job as “spending my days in beautiful places like the ones you see in this exhibit.”
Library hours are from 1:30 to 6 p.m., Monday and Friday; 1:30 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday. FMI, please call the library at 674-2004.
