Williams House’ First Saturday

WAYNE — The next First Saturday at the Williams House will run from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 2, 14 Old Winthrop Road.

The community may stop by for coffee or tea, and quiche or a scone, visit with neighbors and shop at the ongoing book sale and boutique.

All Christmas decorations will be half price, and there will be a new CD collection with almost 1,000 discs of classical, jazz, folk, world, movie scores and rock and roll for 50 cents each.

Grange hosts bean supper

DANVILLE — Danville Junction Grange will host a bean supper on Saturday, Jan. 2.

High Street Food Pantry seeks donations

AUBURN — The High Street Food Pantry is accepting donations for its mission to help local people meet basic needs. 

It has an on-going need for peanut butter, canned vegetables, soup, canned pasta, canned meats, canned fruit, dry cereal, baking items, soup, crackers and toilet paper. 

Items may be dropped off at the Auburn United Methodist Church, 439 Park Ave.

Bridge club lists winners

LEWISTON — The Lewiston Bridge winners on Dec. 21 were, first, Nancy Lindgren and Les Buzzell; second, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third and first in B and C, Ellie and George Wigton; fourth, Nancy Farmer and Luke Merry; second in B and C, Donna Bartlett and Claire Lyons.

Winners on Dec. 22 were, first, Pat Garcia and David Lock; second and first in B, Marta Clements and Hazel Glazier; third, Pat Quinn and Roger Labbe; fourth, Luke Merry and Mike Quinn.

Games are played at 9 a.m. Mondays and Tuesdays in the Seniors’ Room at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave. A partner is always guaranteed and all bridge players are welcome.

Pinochle, pitch players welcome

LEWISTON — Pinochle and pitch card games for seniors are played weekly at the Lewiston Armory, 65 Central Ave.

New players are always welcome. Pitch is played at 1 p.m. on Tuesdays. Pinochle is at 1 p.m. on Thursdays. Refresher courses are available in both categories.

The armory is open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Thursday. You must become a member to play.
