WILTON — Voters elected Jeffrey Rowe as selectperson Tuesday in a three-way race.

He succeeds Paul Berkey who resigned in the fall.

Rowe received 177 votes, Irving Faunce got 100 and Gerald Whitney had 38, Town Clerk Diane Dunham announced at Tuesday’s Board of Selectpersons meeting.

A total of 315 residents voted, she said.

Both Rowe and Faunce have previously served as selectpersons.

Rowe served four terms — a total of 12 years — on the board before deciding to spend more time with his family, he said prior to the election. He feels he now has the time and experience to help the town along.

The 59-year-old is employed by Ridley Trucking Co. and runs a small motorcycle repair and tractor work business. He is a member of the Fire Department.

He will be sworn in at the next board meeting Jan. 19, Dunham said.
