1970 – 2016

JAY — Tina Lee Dolloff, 45, of Jay died Thursday, Jan. 14, in an automobile accident.

She was born Dec. 20, 1970, in Augusta, the daughter of Richard Dolloff and Donna Reed.

Tina was educated in Readfield and graduated from Maranacook Community School in 1988, where she excelled in academics and athletics, breaking a 400-meter event track record. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern Maine in 1992, with a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, and where she was an all-state soccer champion. A licensed veterinary technician who loved to work with animals, she was employed by various animal hospitals in the area.

Tina married Scott Whittemore on Nov. 11, 2011, and together they were raising their nephew, Jeremy Whittemore. Tina was a loving and committed mother to Jeremy, encouraging and supporting him in life, school and sports. Tina was a very courageous woman, overcoming many difficult challenges in her life and never giving up. She was extremely compassionate and empathetic, which was sometimes a heavy burden to bear. She loved deeply and was always trying to help others.

She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by her husband, Scott Whittemore; nephew, Jeremy Whittemore; mother, Donna Reed of Wilton; brothers, Tod Dolloff of Naples, Terry Dolloff of Westbrook, and Jody Morris of Livermore; stepmother, Cat Dolloff of Gorham; and many extended family members and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Richard Dolloff, in 2012.

Tina experienced the love and protection of her guardian angels many times in her life. Fly with your angels, Tina, free from all the troubles of this world.
