AUBURN — Two chairs manufactured by furniture maker Thos. Moser recently received prestigious 2015 GOOD DESIGN Awards.

The company’s Cumberland Chair, designed by former Director of Design Adam Rogers of Cumberland, Maine, and its Cooper Chair, designed by Brian Kane of San Francisco, were chosen by judges of the awards program.

The program recognizes design excellence and is organized annually by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design in cooperation with the European Centre for Architecture, Art, Design and Urban Studies.

The museum received several thousand submissions from manufacturers and industrial and graphic design firms from around the world for 2015 , with 900 designs receiving awards.

Among those companies submitting were Apple, Boeing, Coca-Cola, Google, Kohler, Mercedes-Benz and Southwest Airlines.

“To be recognized for design excellence among the world’s most visionary companies is an honor,” founder Tom Moser said in a statement released Friday afternoon. “It’s a true testament to our team’s collective talent, dedication and remarkable craftsmanship.”
