LEWISTON – More than 60 of Maine’s most gifted artists and craftspeople will showcase their works in L/A Arts’ 16th annual All Maine Invitational, beginning Friday, March 25.

The University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston Auburn College at 51 Westminster St. will host the six-week show. The artwork will be displayed in the college’s Atrium Gallery. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

On Thursday, March 31, an opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the spacious gallery in conjunction with the Androscoggin County Chamber of Commerce’s March Business After Hours event. The reception is sponsored by UnitedKingfield Bank.

The UMA Café Ensemble will provide jazz music throughout the evening and Cookin’ Carol of Mount Apatite Farm Catering will furnish delicious edibles. This reception is free and open to the public.

A virtual tour of the exhibit will soon be available on L/A Arts Web site at www.laarts.org.

Artwork will be put on the block at the Art Auction Gala, beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday, May 7.

The exhibition includes photographs, paintings, prints, drawings, including landscapes, still lifes, and abstract work.

In addition, finely crafted jewelry, ceramics, metal, woodworking, and unique works in fiber and mixed media are featured.
