PARIS — Enrichment classes are continuing to be offered at Oxford Hills Adult Education during February.
Driver Education Instructor Training with Larry Curtis: 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22. Tuition is free. The informational meeting is for those interested in becoming a driver education instructor for Class C vehicles.
Woodlot Management with Chandler Buie: 6 to 8 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 22 to March 14. Lab fee is $5. Students will learn to actively manage property for personal objectives. The course will help owners make decisions on how to sustainably manage a woodlot for years to come.
Beginner Acrylic Painting with Sue Corning: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 23 to April 12. Tuition is $56. Focus will be on mixing colors, shading and developing 3-D forms in various compositions. No experience is necessary.
Chinese Language with Xiao Han Libby: 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 23 to March 15. Tuition is $20. Students will learn to speak, read and write the language of China.
Chinese Calligraphy: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Feb. 23 to March 15, following Chinese Language. Tuition is $20. Students will learn to write traditional Chinese characters using a brush on rice paper.
Facilitating Healthy Emotional Expression in Children with Chris and Paula Easton: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23. Tuition is $19. The class will teach some basic tools to assist parents in becoming more comfortable with emotional expression in children.
Parents in the Know with Janet Dillingham: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 24 to March 16. Tuition is free. The class will be presented by Sexual Assault Prevention and Response Services. Workshops include discussions and activities about establishing boundaries, identifying problematic behaviors from adults, promoting healthy relationships and becoming an active adult bystander.
Substitute Teacher Training with Patrick Hartnett: 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24. Tuition is free. The workshop provides information about school expectations, teacher lesson plans and assertive discipline. Persons completing the course may be enrolled as substitute teachers at SAD 17. Participants must register in advance.
Computers for Beginners with Don Winckler: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. Tuition is $48. The class is for beginning PC users. It allows supervised use of PC based computers. Both laptops and desk tops available for use. The goal is to make beginning PC users relax.
