PORTLAND — Father Timothy J. Nadeau, who is currently assigned to St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Bangor, will be assigned to the Prince of Peace Parish in Lewiston starting July 1.
His first assignment was in Lewiston as a vicor at Lewiston’s Holy Family Parish.
A native of Caribou, Nadeau, earned a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Southern Maine and completed his clerical studies at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.
According to a written statement issued by Bishop Robert Deeley, Nadeau was ordained in 1991, and then assigned to Holy Family, where he served until being named pastor at St. Ann Parish on Indian Island in 1995.
In 1996, in addition to his duties at St. Ann, he was appointed pastor of St. Mary Parish in Orono. A year later, Nadeau was named pastor of St. Ann Parish in Bradley while continuing as pastor of St. Ann on Indian Island.
Nadeau was named pastor, in solidum with Father Claude Albert, of St. Ignatius Parish and Holy Family Parish, both in Sanford, and Notre Dame Parish in Springvale in 2000.
In 2008, he was appointed administrator of St. Paul the Apostle Parish in Bangor and became pastor of the parish in 2010 where he still serves today.
In addition to announcing Nadeau’s assignment, Deeley announced two other priest assignments Monday.
Father Richard C. Malo has been appointed pastor of St. Mary of Lourdes Parish in Lincoln and St. Leo the Great Parish in Howland.
He is currently the pastor of St. Brendan the Navigator Parish in Camden.
A graduate of St. Dominic Regional High School in Lewiston, he received a bachelor’s degree in French from Norwich University in Vermont and a master of divinity degree from St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1987 at Ss. Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston.
Malo’s new assignment will become effective May 4.
Father Paul R. Marquis has been appointed pastor of St. Peter the Fisherman Parish in Machias effective July 1.
Since June of 2015, Marquis has served as half-time parochial vicar at St. Michael Parish in Augusta and half-time hospital chaplain at Maine General Hospital in Augusta.
Ordained to the priesthood in 1986 at Holy Family Parish in Lewiston, Marquis’ first assignment was as temporary administrator of St. Mary Star of the Sea Parish in Stonington and Our Lady of Holy Hope Parish in Castine.
In July of 1987, he was appointed parochial vicar at St. Thomas Aquinas Parish in Madawaska where he served until being named parochial vicar at Holy Cross Parish in Lewiston in 1991.
