PORTLAND — Dona Zoe Poulin, 86, died Wednesday, March 2, at Maine Medical Center, Portland, following a long illness.
She was born in Columbus, Kan., on Nov. 27, 1929, a daughter of the late Cleo and Vesta L. (Starkweather) Jarrett.
Dona attended Augusta schools and was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.
She had been employed by the state of Maine, Bureau of Public Information for many years. She also had worked at Rotary Cleaners for a few years.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gilbert R. Poulin of Augusta; her son, Patrick G. Poulin and his wife, Rebecca, of Augusta; her daughter, Rose-Marie T. Jackson and her fiance, Bob Bulba, of West Gardiner; her sister, Billie Mae Lewis of Los Lunas, N.M.; three grandchildren, Tabitha Lynn McClay, Derek Cody Jackson and Erika Triggiani; three great-grandchildren, Lilly-Zoe McClay, Layla McClay and Enzo Triggiani; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by a brother, Vernon Allan Jarrett; and a sister, Betty Lou Norman.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt “thank-you” to the doctors and nurses at the Alfond Center for Health in Augusta and Maine Medical Center in Portland for the care and compassion they showed to Dona and the family during her illness.
