TURNER — Nezinscot Farm announces the formation of the  Nezinscot Farm Artisans Guild.  An open house will be held at the farm on Saturday and Sunday, April 2 and 3.

The formation of the guild has been a natural progression for  the farm, said Samantha Varney, in a press released issued by the farm.  “It is our belief that participation, hands-on experience and conversation, are the most stimulating ways to wake up to the desire to learn,” Varney said.

The Nezinscot Farm  has sponsored internships, apprenticeships, and an artist-in residence-program. The guild and artist-in-residence program is not limited to one craft. The culinary kitchen, creamery and boucherie are available to aspiring, mid-career and established artists and farmers. The farm’s fiber studio is ready with looms, yarns, instruction and fiber raised on the farm.

The Nezinscot Farm is a third generation family farm.

“We’re re-defining the scope of what an artisan’s guild can achieve,” Varney said.
