LEWISTON — Now in its 19th season, the Maine Jewish Film Festival this year includes Bates College among its Maine venues, along with sites in Portland, Waterville and Brunswick.

The festival events at Bates begin with a reception at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, March 12, in Pettengill Hall’s Perry Atrium, 4 Andrews Road (Alumni Walk).

Screenings begin that evening with “Touchdown Israel: Tackle Football in the Holy Land” at 7 p.m. in Room 104, Olin Arts Center, 75 Russell St.

Three screenings take place the following day, Sunday, March 13, in Olin 104:

• “Once in a Lifetime,” 3 p.m.

• “Wedding Doll,” 5 p.m.

• “Dough,” 7 p.m.

At 6:45 p.m. Saturday, prior to the “Touchdown Israel” screening, klezmer musicians Sruli Dresdner and Lisa Mayer will perform in Olin 104.

The following evening, Mary Rice-DeFosse, professor of French and francophone studies at Bates, will lead a discussion after the screening of “Once in a Lifetime.”
