DAV Auxiliary No. 11 to meet

BETHEL — The Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the Roosters Roadhouse.

The dinner menu is teriyaki chicken or baked ham, and the cost is $13. Reservations and meal choice are required by Friday, April 1.

Sounds of the Caribbean

CARRABASSETT VALLEY — The Stratton School All-Stars Steel Band will be performing at 5 p.m. Friday, April 1, at the Carrabassett Valley Public Library and Community Center.

Special guests include members of the Western Maine Trash Can Band.

The proceeds will fund the group’s trip to the ? New England Pan Festival in May.

Those attending can listen to the sounds of the Caribbean and take a turn on a drum.

Socrates Cafe to discuss ideologies 

WATERFORD — Socrates Cafe will meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 4, at the Waterford Library.

The discussion topic will be “What Makes Ideologies Dangerous?” Moderating will be Thomas Phillips.

Archery, crossbow safety classes offered

RUMFORD — There will be safety classes for archery and crossbow use in the River Valley area.

There will be an archery safety class starting Thursday, April 7, and a crossbow safety class Thursday, April 14.
