1922 – 2016

NEW SHARON — Dorothy May Daggett, 93, of New Sharon passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 13, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born Nov. 25, 1922, at the family home on the South Strong Road in Farmington, the daughter of Frank W. and Belle M. (Poulin) Whitney. She attended school in Fairbanks and went on to settle in New Sharon with her husband, Quinn Daggett, where they raised their 10 children. Her major wish was that all of her children would graduate from high school, and she was so pleased that they all did. She always loved to have people around and people loved to be around her. She instinctively found the good in people and has been rewarded with many dear, dear friends who will miss her beyond measure.

Dorothy is survived by 10 children. Five daughters, Betty Morris of Ashland, Genelle Burhoe and husband, Howard, of Turner, Debra Daggett and companion, Peter, of Farmington, Darlene Chapman of Farmington, and Deanne Danforth of Turner; five sons, Wayne Daggett and wife, Joyce, of Dryden, Arnold Daggett and wife, Lois, of New Sharon, George Daggett and wife, Joyce, of Farmington, Robert Quinn Daggett Jr. and wife, Laurei, of Fayette, and Terrance Daggett and wife, Amy, of New Sharon; 20 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Barbarah Whitney.

She is predeceased by her husband, R. Quinn Daggett in 1993; and brothers, Elliot, Robert and Elmer Whitney; and a son-in-law, Richard Morris.
