Grafting workshop in Hartford

HARTFORD — Hartford Recreation is sponsoring a grafting workshop from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 23.

Participants will meet at the Town Hall for a quick review and then go outside to graft trees on Main Street.

Participants should bring a sharp knife.

The rain date is set for 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, April 24.

Finnish Cemetery Association to meet

WEST PARIS — The Finnish Cemetery Association meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, at the Mission Congregational Church on Church Street.

Reports will be given and the election of officers will be held. All persons having connections with the cemetery are urged to attend. Those interested in joining the association may attend. 

Italian Sandwich Nite at Elks

RUMFORD — Rumford Elks Lodge No. 862 will host a public supper from 4:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 27. 

Italian Sandwich Nite includes chips and dessert. Admission costs $8. A Chinese auction will follow.

The event is open to members and guests.

Book sale to benefit library

WILTON — A book sale to benefit the Wilton Free Public Library will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 30, at Western Maine Enterprises, 128 Weld St.

This is a large, well-sorted collection of books for readers of all ages and interests. Most of the books are in good condition. Also VCRs, DVDs and books on tape will be for sale.

By donation, all proceeds will go directly to the Wilton Free Public Library.
