ITHACA, N.Y. — Ithaca College student Elijah Breton of Poland finished in first place in the prose interpretation event at Emerson College’s Rose Invitational Speech Tournament on Feb. 21.
This is Breton’s first year on the college’s Speech & Debate Team, though he competed on a team throughout high school. He said he decided to start competing again this year for fun and to see if he could still be competitive. Breton enjoys competing in Dramatic Interpretation and Prose because he can really make the material his own.
“I was certainly very pleased to place first in Prose at the Rose Invitational,” Breton said. “It shows that Ithaca has a strong Speech & Debate program and more people should join.”
