ROXBURY — Members of the Swift River Valley Homemakers of Oxford County recently met at Nina Hodgkins’ home in Roxbury.
The members worked on developmental hearts for premature babies. The fabric heart pattern is designed by the Preemie Project in Iowa City, Iowa. The hearts will be worn by moms then placed with their infant child. The Preemie Project poem, “Hand To Hand; Heart To Heart,” will be given to the new moms. A total of 59 four-inch hearts and 18 eight-inch hearts will be given to area hospitals.
The next meeting is Friday, June 3. Members will bring items to place in five fabric baskets they made that will be donated to the women’s shelter in Rumford.
