We recently read the article “Lewiston schools: More kids. More needs. More money (online, May 8).” We thought it was a great piece that really highlighted how much the L-A community has grown and how crucial that growth has been.
We love that more people are coming to the area and were happy that the article showed the positive impact it will have on economic development and just how diverse Lewiston-Auburn actually is.
We are part of the Young Professionals of the Lewiston Auburn Area group, so we were happy that the article showed how important it is to this community that more and more younger adults are migrating to the area. We were surprised to see that there were so many new folks settling in town and are eager to see how the community grows as a result — especially the downtown area.
We feel lucky to live in the Lewiston-Auburn area because it has so many job opportunities, activities, community involvement and so much potential for even more growth.
Being a part of the YPLAA group has opened our eyes to so many new things in this area that we have been missing out on. Now that we know how much the area is growing, we look forward to seeing the impact that will have in the future.
