LIVERMORE FALLS — Two people were injured Thursday morning when a car attempting to turn left off Water Street onto Route 4 struck a car heading toward downtown, police said.

Michelle Oben, 55, of Livermore was driving a 2010 Honda that struck a 1996 Toyota driven by William Shapleigh, 77, of Raymond, who was heading east on Route 4, also known as Bridge Street, Police Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

Denbow complained of pain to his right arm and Shapleigh complained of pain to his chest and stomach, Steward said. A NorthStar EMS ambulance responded to the 7:35 a.m. accident to treat patients.

Sgt. Vernon Stevens issued Oben a summons on a violation of failure to yield the right of way.

Shapleigh’s car received front passenger-corner damage and Oben’s car received front-end damage, Steward said.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Livermore Falls Fire Rescue was called to assist.
