BUCKFIELD – The Oddfellow Theater will present two Christmas-themed performances of its “Early Evening Show” at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Dec. 5 and 6. Mike Miclon hosts the spoof of late-night talk shows, featuring co-host Amanda Huotari and Mr. H., with the Early Evening Show Orchestra.

The shows will feature original Christmas fun, complete with a visit from “Moto Claus,” music and surprises.

Special guest will be international variety artist Julie Goell, who grew up in Rome where she learned Commedia dell’Arte. She has worked in music, theater, film, television and recording. She toured with the clown troupe “I Gesti” and taught physical comedy skills at Teatro Studio in Rome where she earned her teacher certification for physical comedy.

She acted in the Broadway production of “Ghetto” and directed several U.S. regional productions. Goell plays bass with the Casco Bay Tummlers klezmer band and tours with her solo “mopera” called “Opening Night…Carmen,” which previewed in London. She recently had rave reviews at Light Opera Oklahoma and at the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta.

The Early Evening Show has been a monthly event at The Oddfellow Theater since 1998. They call it “TV outside the box” with Miclon hosting a mix of comedy, music, juggling and surprise guests. It also has news updates, comedy sketches, live “commercials” and interviews.

Doors for the Dec. 5 and 6 shows will open at 7 p.m. Tickets: $10 for adults, $8 for seniors and $6 for children 12 and under. Tickets are available at Northeast Bank in Buckfield, or call 336-3306. The theater is on Route 117.
