BUCKFIELD — With lighting a concern in the Buckfield Municipal Center parking lot, the Board of Selectmen voted to approve a $3,200 estimate for LED lighting upgrades to the pole lights.
The winning bid was supplied by JNC Electric of Hebron.
Town Manager Cindy Dunn reached out to five local contractors. Three estimates were received while one company was unable to do pole work and one company did not respond.
The other two bids supplied were by Rodrique Electric of Hartford for $5,975 and Brant Lovejoy of Buckfield for $6,055.
The upgrades are LED retrofit kits to be installed in the existing Municipal Center exterior poles.
Selectmen Cheryl Coffman and Warren Wright approved the bid. Maida Demers-Dobson was absent.
In other business, the board:
* Heard from resident Judy Berg that the town shares a representative with Minot and Hebron on the Auburn Watershed Committee. Berg asked if the board knew who that representative was. It was unknown to current members; however, Dunn would research to find out.
* Noted the adjustment of the start time for the next Board of Selectmen meeting June 21 from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
* Added to the town calendar of meetings the Historical Society meeting scheduled for Thursday, June 9, at 6 p.m. and the Library Committee meeting June 23 at 6:30 p.m.
