DURHAM — Durham Friends Meeting will host a barbecue chicken dinner with strawberry shortcake to benefit the Kakamega Orphans Care Centre in Kenya, an AIDS Orphan Project at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, June 25, at the Durham Friends Meetinghouse on the corner of Route 125 and the Durham Road/Quaker Meetinghouse Road.
Dorothy Selebwa, Director and Founder of the Orphan Project will be the guest speaker at the conclusion of the dinner. She has devoted her life to caring for children suffering from serious poverty; 250 children are in the Kakamega Orphans Care Centre Project, receiving care and an opportunity for education and hope.
Admission: $14 for adults; $12 for seniors and teens; $8 for children; free for kids younger than 5. There is a $2 discount for making a reservation in advance.
