NORWAY — Beverly A. Duchette, 85, formerly of South Paris, died Thursday, June 16, at Stephens Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Mechanic Falls on Sept. 8, 1930, the daughter of Kenneth and Inez Berry Purington. She attended Mechanic Falls schools and married Arthur Duchette on Aug. 29, 1947.
She had been employed at Wilner Wood Products in Norway, Gould and Scammon in Auburn and later sold Avon. She was very active in the Cub Scouts and was a member of the American Legion Post 150 in Mechanic Falls. Her grandchildren were her life. She loved the casino and did a lot of traveling.
She is survived by her daughters, Carol Keith of Lewiston and Sandra Berry and her husband, Don, of Plymouth; her sons, Peter and his wife, Dee, of Kirkville, N.Y., and Mark and his wife, Gina, of Turner; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; sister, Katherine Atherton of Windham; sister-in-law, Mary Keene; and brothers-in-law, Carl Duchette and Ramon Duchette and his wife, Jackie.
She was predeceased by her husband in 1998; sisters, Barbara Vachon, Dorothy Pray, Evelyn Harriman and Peggy Storer; brothers, Milton Purington, Willard Purington and Alfred Purington; and a great-grandson, Leopold Duchette.
