LEWISTON — Members of the Lewiston-Auburn Rotary District 7790 will host Sen. Nate Libby, D-Lewiston, and Dottie Perham-Whittier, Lewiston’s Community Relations Coordinator, who will share updates on Together We Play, the city’s universally accessible playground project, at its meeting at noon on Thursday, July 7, at the Ramada Inn.

The project is the result of the city’s award of the Shane’s Inspiration/Landscape Structure contest, which awarded $10,000 in equipment and $50,000 in playground design.

The playground will be barrier-free and was endorsed by the City Council. The accessible equipment may be used by both able-bodied children as well as those with mobility, physical, emotional and development disabilities.

Areas of the playground will include a riverfront rock wall, the sensory rock, animal sculptures, sound garden, spinner alley, embankment fun and tee canopy swings.
