1925 – 2016
WEST BETHEL — Arlene Frances Bean, 90, wife of “Sonny” Bean, died at her Barker Road home on the morning of Wednesday, June 29.
Arlene was born in North Waterford on Aug. 24, 1925, the daughter of Henry Sanderson and Josephine Lord and attended local schools, graduating from Bridgton Academy the Class of 1943.
Arlene had been a homemaker most of her life and had driven school buses for many years. She was a member of the West Bethel Union Church, former president of the American Legion Mundt-Allen Post No. 81, and a member of the Pleasant Valley Grange No. 136.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, “Sonny” Bean of West Bethel; two daughters, Darlene Baker and her partner, Harold Rolfe, of Hanover and Kathy-Jo Farren and her husband, Richard Farren, of West Bethel; son-in-law, Reginald Brown of Bethel; three step-children, Kevin Bean, Lorna Mahar and Marlene Bean; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 19 step-great-grandchildren; and one half-sister, Barbara Kneeland.
She was predeceased by her mother, Josephine Stanton; her father, Henry Sanderson; first husband, Dwight Morrill; one daughter, Mary Brown in 2014; one brother, Albert Weymouth; son-in-law, Peter G. Baker; and one half-sister, Faye Jordan.
