CONCORD, N.H. (AP) – A Concord native won a reality television show and $500,000 this week.
The judges of “Big Brother All-Stars” voted Mike “Boogie” Malin the winner of the three-month show.
Family members who were watching at a Concord restaurant were elated. Malin had already won $15,000, a convertible and a trip to Aruba on the show.
Malin left Concord about 12 years ago for California, where he owns a group of restaurants and bars in Los Angeles. He first appeared on “Big Brother” five years ago, and was voted him off after a few weeks. Still, he was invited back.
This season, Malin sported T-shirts with New Hampshire area code 603 and offered New Hampshire shoutouts.
In the program, contestants were sequestered in a house filled with cameras and no access to the outside world. Each week, through a complicated procedure, one cast member was voted off the show.
Malin also started a romance with a fellow contestant in hopes of improving his chances to win.
